Vista Las Palmas was developed by George and Robert Alexander, who specialized in Southern California style of modern architecture.

Architects Charles Dubois and Palmer and Kriesel designed 330 homes for the neighborhood, featuring, these now iconic roof-lines with minimalist facades and lots of curb appeal.

In the 1950’s many celebrities from Los Angels flocked to Palm Springs and used Vista Las Palmas as their Desert retreat to escape from the hustle and bustle of showbiz. The legendary “Two-Hour Rule” of Hollywood studios put Palm Springs on the map as a perfect getaway. ( Actors under contract had to be available within two-hours from the studio just in case last minute film/photo shoots had to occur).

Celebrities who once lived and played in Vista Las Palmas include Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Joan Collins, Debbie Reynolds, Peter Lawford and Elvis Presley , just to name a few.
